I’m privileged to work at a university that has one of the top speech therapy programs in the nation, and my course has been incredible. Insurance covers it, and my stutter has been better. It’s not gone, but the throat pain and fatigue that came with it is almost gone. How mine works at least, is that I have a student conducting it 99% of the time, while her supervisor watches from a room next door with a window and will come in when needed. However, because my fluency is getting better with my SLP now that I am comfortable around her, they are now adding a random SLP in the room every session to force my stutter to come out more (it goes away around people I am familiar with) and doing telephone exercises and zoom calls since I work in customer service.
