Anyone pursuing a career in speech pathology?

Anyone pursuing a career in speech pathology? So I'm obviously a lifelong stutterer, otherwise I guess I wouldn't be posting here. I wouldn't say my stuttering is particularly severe, but definitely bad enough where basically -everything- I say requires careful planning and strategic word placement and all that. I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about. Anyway, I'm just wondering if anyone else is thinking about (or already is) looking into going into Speech Pathology as a career? I went to therapy for probably three or four years in elementary school (22 now, about to finish undergrad), but to be honest I don't really think it helped that much. Maybe it would have it I had stuck with it, but I think once I started middle school I was simply too embarrassed to keep going. I've been considering teaching as a career for a couple of years now, but I've come to realize more and more just how agonizing that could be, standing in front of a class of 20 kids while struggling to get word after word out. So I thought that maybe a logical extension of that would be to help kids manage their stuttering, or stop it altogether. I know next to nothing about the profession. Just curious if anyone here works in that field. Thanks a ton.
