Talking to another person that stutters Is this something that others find weird or interesting? How do you react? I had a co worker in another department that had a bad stutter. Whenever I spoke to him I found myself calmly hyper focused on my speech and enunciating. I rarely stuttered with him. I thought about this because now I sell insurance and sold a policy to a fellow stutterer. He got on a bad block when I asked him what he did for a living, and I could see how emotionally and physically draining it was for him coming out if that. I skipped over it without a word about it. When he got in that bad block I was uncomfortable because I didn’t know where to looks. I did stutter with him but because of my work I have trained myself to not get in to bad blocks. I do repeat sounds though. But I found myself in that hyper focused state. TLDR as a stutterer how do you react talking with someone that stutters? Do you find yourself comparing stutters? It’s amazing how everyone is different.
