Stuttering is not a learning disability, it is a neurological abnormality in how we produce speech. Current line of thought is it may have something to do with how the brain deals with the timing of speech production. Fact is that we don't know exactly why. I was put in special ed classes in grade school as well. The school system didn't know what to do with me, so that was the easiest thing they could think of. This, of course, made me super bored in school, not wanting to do the work, and so on... Technically speaking, stuttering can be a disability depending on how severe it is. If it causes you problems as per the definitions of the country you live in, then it is. It is important to note that it is not a psychological disability, but a neurological one. It has more in common with a physical disability than a psychological problem. Those come from society shitting on people who are different.
