Stuttering can’t be cured(you probably already know this), I’m not trying to be rude but your parents should do research into it. If they don’t understand your stutter how are they going to try to tell you what to do. Stuttering is not something that many can hide. Of course there are those who have overcome stuttering but overcoming stuttering is not consistent. There are many variables involved. I’m a part of a stuttering program and what I am taught is that stuttering is nothing to be ashamed of. Owning it is the best thing you can do. It’s apart of you, embrace it. I have a severe stutter and it’s never held me back, my dad has a slight stutter and my parents have been nothing but supportive towards my stuttering. I have just been accepted into a very good college and plan on majoring in communication so I can become a SLP (speech language pathologist).
