The worst is when I’m trying to order food at a restaurant or talking to some kind of service person. My friends and family and coworkers all know I stutter so they just wait patiently till I get it out. But strangers don’t know I stutter. And I’ve gotten to the point that normally I can say a sentence or two without stuttering so when one eventually comes out the stranger thinks it’s just a stumble over words so they laugh and I feel so fucking humiliated and I just laugh too 😪
