Partially. It depends how your speech therapist manages to build up your confidence. Effectively, it's like going to therapy for mental health issues but knowing that a therapist doesn't have a magic wand to fix all your problems - you need to be the one to put in the hard work and effort once the therapy session is over by practicing talking to yourself or being surrounded by non-judgemental peers. I've seen lots of posts of people being angry at their therapist and quitting the sessions but they just haven't been honest with their therapist on what speech technique is working for them or not. Giving up only leads to failure. It's about also feeling satisfied to know that if somebody mocks your stutter, ignorance is bliss; you shouldn't let their problems be your problems. The average listener should be able to tune this out and not care less of speech blocks here and there.
