Stuttering, handedness, and musical instruments

Stuttering, handedness, and musical instruments I've been wondering about the following thing: Stuttering is connected to how the celebral hemispheres work. As a matter of fact, I'm left-handed, but I've played the violin and the guitar for 12 years now using the "normal technique", i. e. the right-handed grip. However, I've read many articles about the consequences of forced handedness, and the beneficial impact on stuttering when people started to use their dominant hand for everything. I'm wondering whether to change to left-handed grip when playing an instrument. The question is: what kind of professional would you recommend that can answer this question? I've tried to contact a few neurologists, but they seemed to be unprepared in this area. Is there a special type of neurologists who can answer this? If anyone has had the same question, please share your experiences.
