Yea, I think we all go through a similar situation. I still get nervous as hell before certain speaking situations. I took speech therapy as a kid and it was useless. What you need is a therapist that instead of trying to get you to speak perfectly, will instead help you understand and deal with the negative emotions surrounding stuttering. As we both know, stuttering is only the top of the iceberg - it comes with a host of other problems such as fear, shame, isolation, avoidance of life. I learned I can reduce the negative emotion surrounding stuttering. I strongly recommend you look into the AIS program. They have scholarships if money is an issue. I can honestly say it put me on a path that changed my life. At 25 years old I was afraid to answer the phone at work. Now I routinely speak on the phone and host multiperson meetings.
