Afraid to talk to people

Afraid to talk to people It's my second year in college and I only have 2 friends, who studied with me in high school. I'm always afraid to talk to new people or to ask questions to my professors, because I think they'll laugh at me, get really upset or do anything to never get near me again. Does anyone here feel the same? I'm not a native speaker. Sorry about any grammar errors.
