You learn to manage it as you get older. Ages 13-18 were definitely the hardest for me. My stutter caused a lot of distress for me. Now I'm in my early 30s and have a successful career that involves speaking on a daily basis. My best advice is to start pushing your comfort zone and doing the speaking situations that give you fear. Once you conquer the fear the stutter will get less on its own.
