I think it's a hard step to complete without a milieu that furthers it. I've been lucky to be around nice people, where I could get used to the idea of stuttering without repercussion. Over time, this might even have helped me to stutter less in general, but I won't be making any sort of scientific statement on that anecdotal observation. Perhaps the easiest thing is just to start small - find people who we can comfortably stutter around - and then slowly go from there, if we feel like we're doing better (emotionally). A definite "slogan" to remember in this context, I think, is something like "we're not doing _perfection_, we're just _doing_". - Oh, and, I have a background in philosophy, so perhaps the comparison to a stoic is fitting (I'm not familiar with the party in question, though). :)
