Y’all prob see me all over these stuttering forums but bro I’m in the same boat I’m 22 turning 23 In November I’ve been stuttering since 8yrs old due to a stroke so take it from a veteran this gets so much easier to deal with you need to give yourself time to succeed with it like anything else in life it takes time to understand better yet control. We’ve all felt defeated and let down by our stutter even in very important situations it’ll show up and feel as if it ruined it but truth be told it didn’t! Accept it, accept what is and keep it moving things happen for a reason there’s a reason you started stuttering maybe it’s not clear yet but with every challenge there’s a learning curve to it. Not to sound biased but THERAPY DOESNT WORK! how can someone who’s never stuttered, never been through the anxious patterns and struggles that come from stuttering explain how to control it? Yeah sure people get nervous to talk to people sometimes but with us stutterers it’s completely different. There are tactics that may help but there’s so many online resources to get into I would save that 5k for something else. A Tip I’ve learned over time is to not say anything until you’ve said it to yourself 3times comfortably this helps eliminate that anxious blurt out that usually causes the blocks that alone has helped myself so much in social situations there may be a bit of awkward silence from time to time but it’s better to give yourself time to say something than filling the silence with blocks. I hope you find ways to deal with this man it really does suck sometimes but accept it and find a way to beat it, I know you can. Have a blessed day
