I get blocks. I tell clients I stutter. It prevents misunderstandings. For example, when I have to respond with "A but B" but pause before "but" and assume I'm finished, that could lead to terrible misunderstanding, like, you can think of examples where only saying A would be rude. If I happen to "frown" during pause, what they see is someone saying A followed by anger, that is if they don't know I stutter. As for strangers I have to talk to, like, servers and taxi drivers, when there's no time to explain why I get blocks, I pretend to have a sore throat.
