Sorry to hear! I feel depressed sometimes too, especially if I’m stuttering more than normal (happens sometimes randomly, or from lack of sleep, or from being nervous/anxious like for a job opportunity. I don’t always have an easy time doing this but it’s important to stay positive like others have said, I try putting more words together and it helps, like if you have a word that starts with a letter combo you struggle with (like words that start with ‘st’ and especially ‘str’), try pronouncing the word in front of it as if it’s part of the word - instead of saying “strong” on its own, let’s says the sentence is “my leg is strong” (??!) so you would say “my leg is-strong”, and for me it’s easier because I’m not starting the word with ST, I’m starting with IS which I don’t have any issue with. It’s not a perfect trick, but I find combining words like that can make it easier to get the words out, that and lots of looking around “thinking” meanwhile I know the word and I’m trying to push through a fluency block. Man those long pauses where someone is waiting for you to talk and doesn’t understand what’s happening - those hurt my soul a little! I find in a little less anxious in the pandemic because when I’m in a store askin for for something I’m anonymous! I know I’m basically always anonymous to strangers, but it helps to have my face hidden for some reason - maybe I would do well as a clown or something where my face is always kinda hidden! Anyways good luck!
