Hey guys. I just performed infront of 900+ people on friday. I can finally say I did it. (With long ass story) (Link to video below) I conquered my biggest fear and shit on its grave. It’s my last year of high school and throughout the years I went there I was always scared of thinking what people said or would say to me if I even tried to talk to them. This changed very quickly after I performed the crowd hype song that is Lose Yourself. To make things short, Eminem is my Favorite artist and Lose yourself is my favorite song by him! We had a talent show at school and I tried out and got in. A lot of people in my grade heard about it and seemed suprised since I was usually the quiet kid and mainly kept to myself. It was also the week where each grade competes to win the trophy for the year so people were extremely competitive this week. Its finally the day of the show and I walk to the backstage before through the show even started, and my whole class sees me and just uproars (This is before the show even starts so I couldn’t imagine how hype they could get). Its finally my time to go out and as I walk on stage every fear in my body left me, it felt like I was a new person. They kinda mess up the volume on the speakers so the first verse isn’t great, I stumbled because I was right next to a speaker and couldnt hear it. I ask if they could turn it up (I didnt stutter when I said it and i was suprised lol) and the senior class was like “**HE SAID TURN IT UP**” and I kinda laughed. the second verse went a little smoother. We get to my favorite verse, the third verse, and feeling as if I need to make up for the first verse I kinda went in and as the final hook came, I did the unthinkable. I jumped off stage, skipping through the senior aisle singing the verse. Every single senior was standing, every junior was sitting down next to them lol. I finally get back to the stage and say the famous lines, “You can do anything you set your mind to, man.” And I walked off feeling great. It was later revealed I got first place, I was so surprised and wasnt expecting it. The senior class went nuts. We came back and won the games with the athletic section. One of the teachers who sponsored the seniors told me that if I hadn’t gotten first, we wouldn’t have won. Probably the best day in my life in a long ass time. From literal zero to hero. Video: https://www.reddit.com/r/Eminem/comments/7zy9c7/one_of_the_vids_from_the_show/ Its only the last hook but I wanted to show y’all that you can fucking do anything you want to. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and try to get out of your comfort zone.
