Sharing What Worked For Me: “How Learning About Self-Image Reduced My Stutter” Hi, Craig Coffee here. I stuttered since age 7 up through my 20’s. I couldn’t say my name; was teased in school sometimes even called “Stuttering Craig” What made the big difference? Well, I tried speech therapy for 9 years, with 3 different therapists. This wasn’t the breakthrough. What helped? Learning about the concept of the “self-image”. I learned this, then spent a long figuring out (testing in real world) how to apply this to having good speech. Here are a few quotes from one of America’s first plastic surgeons, who later taught how self-image has large influence on our lives: "The 'self-image' is the key to human personality and human behavior. Change the self-image and you change the personality and the behavior." "The 'self-image' is the key to human personality and human behavior. Change the self-image and you change the personality and the behavior." Anyway, learning, and figuring out how to apply, working with the self-image "The 'self-image' is the key to human personality and human behavior. Change the self-image and you change the personality and the behavior." This was one of the most important concepts I credit to improving my speech to the point of living a fluent life and learning to speak with confidence. Sharing what helped me, with nothing held back. Aka me anything, I’ll happily share. Your friend, Craig
