My stuttering disappeared after a strange incident last week... Hi all It is my first post here, however I am here often, reading most the topics. Could my stuttering be due to neurological reasons? Has anyone else had similar experiences? For as long as I can remember, I have always had a problem with speech. Today, I am 36 years old, and I still experience irregular cycles of stuttering. Sometimes, I wake up and it is a good day, but other times I have bad days where I can't really say anything without stuttering on every single word. It is not just stuttering; I also have problems concentrating during conversations, difficulty finding the right words quickly, tension in my head, ticks etc. However, it has never hindered me enough to stop me from being independent. I finished university, achieved a good profession, and have a partner I have always dreamed of. The only issue I have always had is in the social sphere – it has been harder to form long-term relationships. I have few amazing friends, but nothing else. Last Monday, I had an episode where, for an unknown reason, I partially lost my vision. It lasted for 30 minutes, and everything returned to normal. This was accompanied by ringing inside my ears, and since then, I have felt slight tension around my paranasal sinuses. But the strangest thing is that my speech problems have completely... disappeared. It's been a week, and I am talking like mad with no problems whatsoever. I have never felt this way before, it's amazing! I went to the doctor, who preliminarily ruled out neurological issues and a stroke but referred me for further specialist tests. I currently don't have any other symptoms besides the tension. In fact, I generally feel much better than before the incident. In 2019, I had a CT scan which showed that I have a Rathke's cleft cyst. The doctor said it was likely present from birth and probably wouldn’t affect my life. I went to the doctor then because of excessive tics, which resolved on their own.
