I often worry about this too. Out of nowhere, about three months ago, I developed a stutter. I’ve never stuttered in my life until now, it just happened suddenly, almost like I woke up with it. What makes it even scarier is that I’m in the middle of a big career change. I’m moving from the oil/gas industry into software engineering, and I know that field requires a lot of communication and collaboration. I can’t help but stress over whether this is going to stick around and hurt my chances of getting a job. I’m only 3–4 months away from finishing my degree, and sometimes I wonder if I’ve spent the last four years working toward something I might not even be able to use because of this stutter that came out of the blue.
