Did your employers know you stutter? Truly, 99 out of a 100 people (likely more) have sympathy for that. I stutter at times during presentations as well, particularly if it's people I don't know but thankfully that's only maybe a half-dozen times a year I have to do that. I basically have to memorize the presentation or know the topic extremely well. That old adage of prepping one hour for one minute of speaking is certainly true for me, mostly because of my stutter. I understand not wanting to sound robotic but if they know that helps you I think that would be preferred by everyone. My last work presentation was to about 20 people, a mix of clients and other consultants and I just let them know beforehand that I have a stutter so just bear with me. Maybe even throw in a joke there so it puts other people at ease. Unless your job entails you giving presentations daily, the most important thing is if you do good work and are reliable. At the end of the day, we all carry burdens and but the best choice is to try and carry on and enjoy life the best we can.
