> Despite the fact that you have a challenge that none of your peers have to deal with, you get up every morning, you go in to school, and you do your best. That's a goddamn success. Well I suppose I do try my best, but I just feel like if my best is poor it doesn't count for anything- also tho, in this same class, I actually do have a peer that stutters and we actually sit with each other lol. I remember we had to speak to each other for another activity, and I blocked a bit and he just smiled and said "See?". (For context, this was after the teacher prompted him to speak a certain phrase, and he stuttered & said "Ahh I'm bad at speaking" lol. I genuinely felt so seen in that moment, as minor as it was. 😭) We aren't friends or anything but I've wanted to be this dude's friend for like 2 yrs now, not only bc he stutters like me but also bc we like the same show and I always just had a rlly good vibe abt him :) that's kinda off-track tho LOL > Would you call somebody else dealing with a disorder or a disability a failure? If you wouldn't cast that shade at someone else you damn sure shouldn't be casting it at yourself. Ok that's actually very true; i wouldn't act like this with anyone else so u do have a point there...it's just rlly hard for me to apply the same judgement to myself bc I already have low self-esteem and think I'm a general failure haha (not just related to my stutter)
