My eldest has a very mild one, my youngest daughter had a severe one but it went away after a week (My hypothesis is that we ignored it hoping it would go away and it did). My father had a mild one, mine was pretty bad but I feel it was exasperated by the constant mocking. I know what you're going through being the one who got the worst of it.
