You are right ! I am very sorry, this is not what I meant to say. TS stated :' Knowing that stuttering is holding me back from living a meaningul life ' I was trying to tell that despite stuttering **you can have a meaningfull life and you can't let a stutter (no matter how severe) holding you back for a meaningfull life** And yes there are benefits to stuttering: for me personal : * it made me a great listener * a more than average emotional intelligence * People trust me * I have great empathy * It made me to the person I am today * higher understanding of others in suffering * more understanding of other’s shortcomings and differences. * Greater sensitivity to the needs of other people. * .... But the real point I wanted too make, and I apologize I did so poorly, is that the key element to overcome stuttering is acceptance and that is a place where TS in my opinion not yet have arrived. It took myself 30 years to get there. When I started working I could not say my own name. This week i'm giving a 20min presentation in a foreign language. If I offended anyone with the post, - that I will delete in a few minutes, I sincerely apologize.
