I've (37F) come to accept it now. I worked as a manager front end gun store, so talking to people all day....I was having a rough day and kept stuttering and was visibly getting frustrated with myself. The guy I was helping told me it made me a good sales person because people had to actually slow down, and listen to me due to the stutter. Now, whether or not he was being truthful in what he believed or just being nice....it didn't matter, boosted my confidence. It's stuck with me and i'll never forget it. I've just learned what my trigger letters are ("m" usually, but it can be anything when i'm nervous). Having a decent vocabulary helps, if I know i'm stuck or about to be on a word, i'll just pick another! Works *almost* every time!
