Did anyone else develop their stutter as a teen?
Content
Did anyone else develop their stutter as a teen? I never stuttered as a child, but after a series of traumatic events in my late teens I began stuttering when I’m upset. When I get nervous or frustrated, I have difficulty speaking and often have to give up and write things down. It’s a weird stutter as well - I repeat words instead of sounds, and the main issue I have is making the noises in my throat in time with the movements of my mouth. Once I start talking, the stutter usually slowly fades, and it always disappears immediately when I calm down. Does anyone have similar symptoms to mine?
