Actually, during my MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station) there was a colonel who noticed my moderate/severe stutter and he pulled me out of line to take a special oral test. I was given 10 verbal commands to read out loud and I used every speech technique, trick, crutch, whatever I could do to ensure that I spoke those 10 commands without any blocks. I proceeded to speak every command verbally and I passed. My AFC was 461XX which was non-nuclear munitions. I built GBU & cluster bombs in addition to Aim 9L missiles for the A-10 Warthog during the Persian Gulf War. My stutter did not hold me back. I returned with medals and an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force.
