I think you've reached a great level of awareness and you're ready to reach fluency more often. In my opinion what you've realized is that you have more of a social anxiety problem, not so much a stuttering problem. Yes, you may have a speech impediment but the fact that you achieve fluency when you're alone is HUGE. I was in my late 30's when I realized this and it really changed my life. I now lead daily meetings and read reports on video calls with over 100 people. I had to stop trying to figure out what others thought of my speech and just focus on delivering the best message possible. It's not easy, but it is simple and very doable. The more relaxed you can become around people, the more you'll see there was really never a reason to have anxiety to begin with. Your life is about to change. Start working on uncovering why you feel that anxiety when you speak around people. Maybe look into some CBT. One thing that really helped me was listening to positive affirmations about speech and public speaking. Believe me, you can absolutely, 100 percent, without a doubt retrain/brainwash/reset/renew your mind to think "I'm about to speak so smooth and clear, these people are going to love me" instead of "Oh God, I'm about to stutter!!" before you get ready to speak. And that is such a game changer. You're in a great spot. You can achieve fluency much more often once you work on what appears to be social anxiety. Good luck!
