Stuttering tip #1 I can remember the first time I ever Stuttered and it's been a slippery slope with plenty of ups and downs but I have to say it does get better with practice. I've never been to speech therapy, I don't know if my mum and dad ever thought about taking me to therapy or whether I'd just grow out of it. Needless to say I didn't grow out of it, but I sort of grew into it. I acknowledged that it is a part of 'me' and part of my character. If I could take a magic pill to remove my stutter believe me I would. But right now I have to accept that it will never be completely gone Over the years I've tried to figure out ways in which I could hide it and for me personally I've come up with a good way to hide it or 'mask' it. For me I have trouble with certain letters like the letter D. Some words like 'Device' or 'Determine'. But I've found that if I want to start a sentence with a word like device. This is how I'd do it: CUSTOMER: "What is the device number on the machine?" "Errrrrrrrr Device number is........" It's kinda hard to explain but basically I start by making an 'errrrr' sound just to get the sound rolling off the tongue and them piggyback off of that sound. Works 95% of the time Even if this helps at least one person I'd be happy
