I'm a female stutterer as well! I'm 28 and have stuttered my whole life. In the last 6 years or so I've gained strategies and confidence to be more open about my stutter. Ie. For online school, if I have to talk or if there are introductions (which I hate! Haha) I try to say that I'm a person who stutters or I stutter so people are aware and have the opportunity to be more patient. I also tell people that I stutter when they are making fun of me if I block on my name or something. I find this helps my mental health if I'm having a bad stuttering day and puts some of the onus on others to be patient and understanding. That being said, it's taken me a long time to get to this stage of my acceptance and I was far from it when I was 18. Meeting and talking to others who stutter was a great help so feel free to message me if you want to chat!
