I mean, I can look away without ducking my head and it looks much more natural. Pretty sure this is a genuine secondary behavior because it actually feels like it helps me get my words out. Someone mentioned pinching your fingers together as a more subtle substitute and I've been trying to do that when I think of it. It takes some real effort to keep from ducking my head though, cause I've just gotten used to it and feels relieving somehow.
