I am a teacher. I had a bad stuttering problem from about 5 to about 15. It wasn't great after 15, but it took a lot of public speaking practice to improve my speaking abilities. I also had about 2 years of therapy in Middle / HS I cope by not taking it very seriously. I also don't stutter that much anymore. I get at most a big hang up once per class to about once per week. I occasionally stammer, but most people wouldn't recognize it as an issue. When I do start to go through a bad moment I definitely make it visible and do a reset. Planning helps. Not having a specific script helps so you can have more natural speech patterns that you have practiced. It helps when you have confidence in your knowledge of something and a desire to share it with others and a care that others actually know and appreciate what you know. Can you describe your stutter? Have you gotten therapy?
