She is a horrible teacher, she shouldn't have let you drop it. You have to feel bad or be out of your comfort zone to progress. I have been through this a lot and it sucks, but some advice to help you out. Don't be afraid to find other ways to communicate, learn sign language in the target region, also learn how to speak around what you are trying to say. Nothing you say will be perfect but you can atleast convey general ideas and keep a small notebook to write stuff down to convey in your speech if you can't say it then take it back later and practice saying it over and over. if you allow yourself to quit, your just dodging your own progression, hints why I believe if a teacher urged you to do this they genuinely don't care about your own progression more so their own convenience. Feeling like crap sucks, however, it is what you need to feel like to progress. Reference: I am a linguist and speak English, Mandarin, and japanese fluently.
