If the books/meetings helped you, that’s great! No disrespect to that community either. Just stating what I saw from my experience when I almost bought the books looking for a ‘cure’. Tons of people have (probably) benefited from the books, but I’m just not one to trust in hypnosis and pseudo science from an author that’s clearly used bots to drive up sales. So if neroplasticity and ‘rewiring’ your brain works for you, then go crazy and congrats. Personally, I’ve found the benefits of accepting and embracing my stutter helped me more in life than a “fake it till I make it” mentality. Disclosing my stutter, stuttering in public and in meetings, as well as advocating for people who stutter has helped myself grow as a person and learn techniques that benefit me well beyond speech fluency. Overall anxiety is at an all time low, communication skills consistently improve, and it helps to de-stigmatize stuttering as whole. Hoping OP can find his own path to fluency, whether that’s a $19.99 solution on Amazon, speech therapy, or some other means.
