I’m a software engineer with a medium stutter. I hate interviews because I’m so scared and anxious that my fitness tracker starts to alarm me to calm down 5 mins before the interview starts. But still preparing my introduction speech ‘tell me a bit about yourself’ with words that I am 70% am capable of saying in very stressful situations helps A LOT. Other things to keep in mind is to stay positive, smile and not radiate stress and negative feels because interviewers may not understand that we are hating ourselves and not them when struggling with words. About daily meetings and calls: it really gets better and better when you get deeper into project and understand more so that you are not stressing about being wrong with something. About people: personally my team has minimum 3 stuttering people and one of them stutters very much but not once was he interrupted or laughed at, yes he takes more time to tell us about his tasks for the day but even clients treat him absolutely all right. So my point is software engineering is a great job for stutterers and do not hesitate to apply for jobs, there are many of us here who chose to be farthest away from talking to people and calling (my personal hell) as possible but maintaining a profitable and steady job.
