40-something here. Just a couple of tips: Try to 'stammer forward' - don't repeat sounds, and always be trying to move on to the next sound whenever possible. Maintain eye contact (not in an 'establishing dominance' way, just in a normal conversation way) as much as possible. Watch out for secondary characteristics that become hard-to-break habits and make you look weirder than stammering does. Try to be aware of how you stammer and, if possible stammer in the way you choose if you get what I mean. Good luck - don't let it define you. As the other guy says, most people couldn't give a toss.
