I’m a current undergrad and I feel like this is a common problem for people who stutter. I took a Spanish class where a good amount of the grade was based on unedited videos of yourself speaking Spanish. This was already hard enough but to make matters worse you had to upload the videos on a class webpage for everyone to see. Despite multiple meetings with the professor he was unwilling to budge even a little bit. Although I understand why he was unwilling to make amendments to the course to accommodate one student, I still think professors need to understand our problem more. Due to the relative rarity of a stutter I think this issue is not noticed in education settings and causes extreme anxiety in students for no benefit. I can obviously see the benefit of a teaching style like this for students that can speak fluently but for students that have trouble speaking this is extremely detrimental to self confidence. Unfortunately I don’t see this issue improving any time soon because we aren’t represented much. It’s a struggle for students
