It helps alot. Once I start talking, I have her undivided attention until I'm done. She never tries to finish words for me unless I give her a clear indicator that I'm struggling. Idk when it happened, but we kind of developed an unspoken code so she knows when I'm about to block, when I need her to take over a conversation in a group setting, and when I'm having one of those days where I know I won't be able to say anything, she'll pick up on that too and take the focus off of me in a group conversation or subtly reword the question so that I can give shorter answers. Or if i start a block, she'll touch me to take my mind off of my speech, and usually it gets me back on track. She'll also make phone calls for me if necessary. She's been such a huge help not only to my fluency but also to my confidence. Once you find your people, you'll never want to stop talking.
