There is substantial evidence that shows there’s an inherent correlation with anxiety and stuttering. It is very rare to have stuttering and not have the accompanying disorder of anxiety. By the same token, it’s also common for a person with anxiety to NOT have stuttering. In essence I’m claiming that if you have anxiety it doesn’t mean you necessarily stutter. Contrarily, if you stutter you most certainly have an anxiety disorder. And no, I should not “might as well equate anyone with the fear of public speaking or of anything has anxiety disorder.” Those are very different things than childhood onset fluency disorder my friend and I’m not sure why you are equating the two. To be clear, anxiety is not caused by fear per se. That certainly plays a role but that is not the extent of the disorder by any means. Stuttering is merely a biproduct of hyper consciousness and anxiety disorder.
