You need to work that talking muscle constantly for it to stay good. Try to talk to people and initiate the convo first. Talk loud enough so they don't ask "what?" Then just ask questions, don't let them question you, you have to he the one controlling the convo. When you get stuck on a word try 2 things. First stop, take a deep breathe or 2, calm ur mind and then try say the sound ur stuck on without thinking about it. The second is learning to work with your stutter and using that "feeling in your chest" to stop and find a new word when you feel yourself freezing up. Just try to talk without being prompted to if you can. For me I can't answer peoples questions if it's personal to me. I'll freeze up. So now I just ask them questions about them selves and it keeps them talking. Then u just gotta listen and respond in ways that keep them talking. "Whats ur favorite color?" "What kind of games do you play, if u play any" Just deflect the attention off you until you build up that talking muscle to start answering how you want
