I don’t think it’s either. I think he forgets it’s a trauma point and repeats it because it’s interesting/different, like you might forget someone’s pronouns. Not to equate trans rights too strongly with disability awareness, but my trans friends say the best thing to do when someone messes up pronouns is to apologize and move on 🤷‍♂️
