I’m a commercial agent, so I act as a middle man between negotiations and give advice to clients. It’s tricky when I’m just speaking on the phone, especially when people can get quite frustrated if we have to deliver bad news. However I find that when I’m meeting people face to face I like to appear confident and in control, which in turn makes me feel more in control of my stutter. I start by introducing myself first in most situations, sometimes when I’m not speaking to people I know I can throw in a slight accent change as for some reason that helps my fluency. It’s not the easiest job and I can feel stressed about my stutter, but I would hate to lose out on such a great job because of it so I power through.
