Its rough, for sure, and honestly, your stutter probably won't get better as you get older. So how do you deal with it? Its all about framing. You'll notice a lot of people on this sub use the term "person who stutters" or PWS or some variation of that. It is important for us, as people who stutter, to not let our ailment define who we are. We are not 'stutterers' we are **PEOPLE** who stutter. The difference is subtle, but powerful. You aren't alone. I implore you to not get caught up in the self pity 'woe is me' mentality that can plague this sub at times. Sure, this is a place to vent our frustrations, but it is also a place where we can find understanding and compassion in a world that sorely lacks it. Keep your head up and ask for help when you need it. Some of us around here have been dealing with our stutter for a long time (about 30 years for me).
