Possible Job Opportunity…but Hi all :) I’ve posted here a few times and have always gotten great responses! So I wanted to see if I could get some advice from my fellow stuttering people. I have a possible job opportunity lined up to be a personal caregiver, this involves lots of talking with specific clients and my employer over the phone. I have a lot of difficulty answering the phone, whether it be someone I don’t know or someone I do. Saying “Hello, hey, hi”, etc. is something I’ve struggled with for years. I’ll get blocked and can’t even get a sound out….imagine how weird that is to the person on the other line when they don’t get a response after the caller has answered 😅 I already am planning on sharing that I have a stutter and so it may be seen on phone calls, specifically at the beginning, so there can be a mutual understanding, however, I’d love to find ways to practice saying “hello” over the phone, or maybe techniques I can use to trick my brain (as I’m sure we’ve all had to do at some point). If you have any pointers please lmk! Thanks :)
