Speech therapy does work. It depends on what therapy you are using. I have tried everything under the sun. At 57 years old I became fluent. Something’s I did. Most stutterers can read out loud. If you can, read a book out loud for at least an hour a day. Train your mind to hear fluency from your lips. After 3 weeks just doing this, your speech will improve. Speak slowly.Speak no more than 4 or 5 words at a time. Take a brief pause, then say 4 or 5 then repeat. If you have a block and can’t say the first word, you a synonym or hum before saying it. Also whisper! There are many more techniques. For more information, send me a direct message.
