The Waterboy actually had a pretty positive portrayal, however also quite different from the average experience of people who stutter. Bobby had the disfluencies some of us have but didn't seem to have any of the mental baggage. In a sense he could be looked at as a role model for how we should all feel about our disfluencies, but in reality that's not how things work for the vast majority of us.
