as a 16 year old stutterer, i know exactly how you feel. i mask my stutter by simply not talking. i know for a fact it doesnt help AT ALL, in fact its made it worse. for me though, im very comfortable with not verbally speaking for days on end. my speech holds me back SO much, so all i can do is accept that its probably going to be with me til the day i die and manage it the best i can. goodluck to you
