It was a success This weekend I taught my first class. My little Undergrads (oldest is like 23) were so adorable and asked so many questions. I kept them engaged the whole time and they went from a bunch of quiet little guys who wanted the whole thing to end, to a group of students literally screaming out the answers and not even wanting to leave. One boy in particular who had really struggled the day before gained so much more confidence and bloomed like a flower in a hot house. HIs smile was gold. I was so proud of them, and also of myself. I think I stuttered a bit here and there, but nothing glaring and I got everyone so energized and pumped about Health Assesment that they were all smiling from ear to ear. I still have a few quiet mice but I will focus on them more next week. Teaching is really amazing and I may have found another calling. Its true that Undergraduate Nursing students are some of the kindest and most compassionate kids to have and that makes it easier, but still.... It helped also that I knew the material and am really passionate about it. Anyway, thats my good news for the week.
