I had a stutterer in my class at trade school for two years, but I didn't like him much, so I didn't talk to him often. I know another stutterer since the clique in teen years, he trains in the same gym as I do and we have nearly the same friends. From time to time we play poker or darts together. He's a friendly nice guy, in the german army, is building his own house now and is a motocross racer. We talked about stuttering and the unpleasant stuff that comes with it - and when we are together our speech is near 9/10. He works on his speaking too. Another one of my friends stutters also, but he has massive avoidance strategies. Be it through fast speaking, changing words and filling the gaps with 'uhms' and 'ahhs', but everyone is aware of his stuttering. I don't talk to him about stuttering, because he is ignorant and still thinks he handles it well. He has a job where he doesn't need to talk. We support the same football team and watch a few wrestling PPV together. My youth instructor in the fire department stuttered too. He was and still is a funny guy. My mother was his teacher in school. The last three and I are all from the same small village with ~2000 inhabitants.
