I see. Which university are you studying in? Because I'm not able to find the TA requirements for masters students in my university. I feel the professor was only cracking a joke because of the governor thing. The joke works for other scenarios as well and not just stammering. Can't you try for an RA as well? I know it must be hard...but what's your status on that?
