Opposing viewpoint here. I don’t like to reinforce my stutter by putting myself in high anxiety situations. Currently, I avoid speaking in high stress environments, and I read aloud by myself for 2 hours everyday. I don’t stutter when I read aloud, so it helps my brain to hear myself be fluent. It’s a huge confidence boost for me. I hate stuttering. I’ve hated it since it first started at age 5. I hate the excruciating symptoms that go along with it. I do everything in my power to not let it happen.
